The steps, in order
Establish the model year first
Menu, then Support, then About This TV. Anything from 2016 onward runs the current Tizen store and will take these apps. Older sets will not, and no amount of searching changes that, so check before spending twenty minutes hunting an empty store. An older Samsung is not useless; it simply needs a stick in an HDMI port instead.
Open the store and search
Press Home, open Apps, and use the search icon in the upper corner. If it asks you to sign in, create your own Samsung account rather than using whatever came with the set, particularly if the television was inherited with a flat.
Choose between the two players
IPTV Smarters costs nothing and takes an ordinary login. Smart IPTV asks a small one-time fee for that television and is noticeably lighter, which tells on older panels that labour under anything heavier. On a 2016 or 2017 set, the lighter app is usually the better answer even though it costs a little.
Give it the account
Smarters wants Login with Xtream Codes and the three values. Smart IPTV works completely differently and this surprises everybody: it has no login screen at all. It displays the television's MAC address, and you take that to siptv.app/mylist on a phone or laptop and send your M3U link to it. The set then collects it.
Restart it properly
Close the app fully rather than backing out of it, then reopen. The channel list and guide load. From then on, the channel list button on the remote is much the quickest way through the groups, and it is worth learning early on a set that redraws slowly.
Turn off the processing that spoils live television
Samsung ships with motion smoothing enabled, which gives football and film the look of a daytime soap. Under Picture, Expert Settings, set Auto Motion Plus to off and the mode to Standard or Movie. This has nothing to do with the subscription and it is the commonest reason people think a stream looks wrong.
Give the set a real restart before you judge anything
Tizen keeps very little memory free, and a television left on standby for weeks performs measurably worse than one that has been properly restarted. Unplug it at the wall for thirty seconds rather than using the remote, which does not clear memory at all. Two minutes doing that before a long evening removes a category of stuttering that people otherwise spend an hour attributing to their connection or their subscription, and it costs nothing to try first.
What usually goes wrong on this device
The app is missing from my store
Samsung curates its catalogue by region. Either change the region in Settings, or use IPTV Smarters, which is stocked almost everywhere. If neither works, support can name a player available in your market.
Smart IPTV says the playlist has expired
That message concerns the app rather than your subscription, and the two are unrelated. Reinstalling the app or factory-resetting the set wipes the stored list. Upload the M3U again at siptv.app/mylist against the same MAC address and it returns.
Sound plays but the picture is black on some channels
The panel cannot decode that codec. Take the HD or SD copy of the same channel, which sits beside it in the list. On a set of this age that is the practical answer; there is no setting that will make it decode a format it lacks the hardware for.
The app closes as soon as it opens
Tizen keeps very little memory free. Close everything else, then unplug the television at the wall for thirty seconds rather than using standby, which does not clear memory. If it recurs weekly, that panel is happier with Smart IPTV than with the heavier Smarters.
The set was fine and is now slow
Samsung pushes firmware updates that occasionally leave less memory free than before. Restart at the wall, hide categories you do not use, and if the set is a 2016 or 2017 model consider moving to Smart IPTV, which is the lighter of the two apps by a noticeable margin on that hardware.
When the set is simply too old
A 2016 Samsung will run these apps and a 2014 one will not, and no workaround changes that, because the store the players live in does not exist on the older firmware. The tell is straightforward: search the store, find nothing resembling IPTV Smarters or Smart IPTV, and stop looking. Do not install anything from a forum link promising to add it. The answer on that hardware is a stick in an HDMI port, which costs $30 to $50 and turns a set that cannot run this at all into one that runs it better than a 2016 Samsung does. The television continues to work exactly as before for everything else. This is also the moment to check whether the panel is 4K, because if it is not, the stick you buy need not be a 4K model either and the cheaper one will do.

Do I still need a Firestick?
Not on a 2016-or-later set. The television runs the player from its own store and is the only device involved. A stick earns its place on older Samsungs, or where you specifically want TiViMate, which Samsung has never carried and never will.
Is Smart IPTV free?
Seven days are free, then it asks a small one-time activation covering that specific television. That payment goes to the app developer and has nothing to do with your subscription here; we receive none of it and would rather say so than let you assume otherwise.
Will it show 4K?
If the panel is a 4K model, yes. If it is a 1080p set, no, however good the feed. That is worth checking before paying attention to which channels are Ultra HD, because on a 1080p Samsung the HD copies are all you will ever see.
Can I use this on a rented set?
On any television you control, yes, and nothing you install leaves a trace beyond the app itself, which uninstalls cleanly before you hand the keys back. Sign in with your own Samsung account rather than one already on the set. Hotel and other locked-down televisions will not permit it, and there a stick in an accessible HDMI port is the only route.
Why is Samsung slower than my phone?
Because the panel was built to a price several years ago and is doing more work with a fraction of the resources. It is almost never the account. Hiding categories, restarting at the wall rather than with standby, and choosing the lighter of the two apps all help more than anything else available to you.
